What PeekDrive does
PeekDrive is a Chrome extension that lets you search inside your Google Drive files and preview matching passages directly from the search results.
Data collection
PeekDrive does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. All processing happens locally in your browser. Your search queries, file contents, and results never leave your device.
Specifically, PeekDrive:
- Does not send any data to external servers
- Does not use analytics, tracking, or telemetry
- Does not use cookies
- Does not store your file contents or search history
- Does not share any data with third parties
Google API usage
PeekDrive accesses your Google Drive files through Google's APIs solely to perform search and display matching passages. This access is limited to what is necessary for the extension to function.
PeekDrive's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data retention and deletion
PeekDrive does not retain any user data. Since all processing happens locally and no data is stored beyond your active browser session, there is nothing to delete. Your Google Drive file contents are only accessed temporarily during a search and are not cached or saved.
Data protection
Your data is protected by design: PeekDrive processes everything locally in your browser using encrypted HTTPS connections to Google's APIs. No data is transmitted to any third-party server.
Permissions
PeekDrive requests access to your Google Drive to read file contents for search purposes only. No other permissions are requested beyond what is strictly necessary for the extension to work.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new date.
